Tempo Music School, run by Jason Boyd is committed to providing bespoke music tuition that’s meets each individual students’ needs. All ages, all abilities!
Jason Boyd studied at Sussex University and the Guildhall School of Music and has worked in music education for over 20 years, firstly as a peripatetic keyboard and piano teacher visiting many different schools working with students aged 6-16, then as a head of music at a sixth form college delivering music and music technology courses and more recently as a self-employed teacher in various private and state schools locally. We offer the following courses:
- Individual piano and keyboard lessons
- Group keyboard tuition
- Music theory lessons
- GCSE / A level mentoring
- Accompanying for exams
- Composition tuition

Alongside his employed work Jason has always maintained a freelance career as a composer, publisher, author, accompanist, and teacher. Credits for his compositions include Ralph Lauren, Candian television network CTV and ABRSM (keyboard book Play it again!).
He has a vast experience of teaching beginners right through to diploma level, both young and old. He has no fixed strategy when working with learners, other than to meet their needs and goals be it progressing through grades, achieving a better grade in their A levels or simply learning as a hobby.
